A Satisfied Reader .....

Hello Suraksha,

I always think one sign of a successful piece of writing is when it stays with you after you've
finished - like the memory of a visit with old friends. I finished It Happened Like This the night before last, and have since found myself thinking about the characters and the settings as if I'd just returned home from a visit with them all and am now missing them a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the stories of these women, their families and their country. You've found the perfect balance in weaving together the history of the times with what is happening in their lives. I was particularly taken with Parveen's journey - and the realization that basically, life isn't perfect - it's all what you make of it. I just loved that - because it seemed that the marriage was doomed - but she was smart enough to figure it out in time.

Thank you so much for sharing your writing with me  - I look forward in turn to sharing it with others. You inspire me!

All the best,
Sandra
