TECHNICAL TERMS OF PLEASANTRIES

TECHNICAL TERMS OF PLEASANTRIES

This is a conversation between the artist and the graphic designer. I did not understand a word of it, but thanks to email, stood aside, tried not to look stupid with unnecessary interjections or queries and let them sort out whatever was the issue.

BR: If I can get the original file (source file) for final printing, I can resize the wrapper.
The book size as it is is 14 cm width & 21.6 cm height. Spine width will be 22 - 24 mm width.
Text part correction has been done and finally it has come down to 332 pages (earlier it was 352).

NF: Sending the artwork files via Google Drive (downloadable from link) in the following mail. It has been resized to 14 cm width and 24 mm spine.
The e-book cover has been emailed previously. Is there a change in dimensions/size though? Resending the current one optimised for digital libraries.
Please do let me know if there's any trouble accessing the link to artwork files.

BR: Downloaded the files.  But I would be grateful if you can send me the illustrator file alone with fonts curved (covert to outlines).
With thanks

NF: The fonts are all curved except for Adobe Caslon Pro used for author write up. It was looking thicker on breaking, so I had left it that way. Can I send you the font instead? The PSD file is a linked file for relinking after download. Do you mean you want it embedded? I had sent a PSD in case you wanted to resize the spine. Do let me know, will send the file accordingly.
Thanks & regards,
BR: Please send me the fonts instead.
NF: Hi Please find attached fonts that are not curved in the file.
Regards,

Whatever this meant, the proof copy arrived with the cover print out as well. Wondorous....
The gestation of this book is coming to term soon.
Can’t wait for it to be out….
