A Man of Many Seasons
My uncle is 91 and still learning, absorbing. Backed by an illustrious military career, he retired from a highly placed position when he was in his late 70's. General as he is fondly referred to, and rightly so by rank, is a popular person at the Army celebrations, bringing out anecdotes of his time in service, including the transfer of important files during Partition. A long standing Rotarian, he was involved with the Polio Plus drive and I marveled at his zest in driving out for miles where the camps were being held.
He is now on Facebook and I expect shortly on twitter.
What do I learn from his life?
Don't waste time on pettiness and gossip, engage the mind with a curiosity to know and learn, self regulate life style appropriate to age.
Uncle, one smart salute to you.
